We are so thankful for a great 2012 -- especially to all of our wedding clients, blog readers, event staff + industry partners! It's become a little end of year tradition to recap our year with photos (courtesy of our trusty iPhones) of favorite behind-the-scenes moments + details of our year...
At the start of 2012 we were so excited for the debut of our wedding book collaboration project with our friends at Southern Living.
We attend a few industry events during the quiet months of January + February...we loved this brunch event our good friends at Hitched Salon hosted in their beautful shop.
Lots of invitation assembly and mailings take place in February + March gearing up for spring + summer weddings.
Our first wedding of the year kicks off in early April with lots of tulips! For more on Sue + Greg's wedding, check out their real wedding feature on Style Me Pretty.

May continues with a VERY remote home wedding in the mountains of Virginia for Kate + Dave...

Memorial Day weekend we're in DC for a fun wedding for Kacie + Dave...we love the calm before the event start...and their beautiful Maggie Austin Cake...
We kick off June attending + speaking at the always-a-blast Engage!12 Conference in Las Vegas.
June is super busy with weddings and up first are Kara + Bretton at Kara's parent's country home with one of our favorite event installations...an alfresco real hardwood dance floor...
The church they are married in had some some beeutiful stonework...
Kara looks stunning in her Oscar de la Renta gown...but Luis, her rescue pup, totally steals the show + is a topping in the make-your-own sundae bar...
...and another gorgeous Maggie Austin Cake....
June weddings continue with more pretty pink for Libby + Louis in DC. We love their clear top tent setting for dinner in the courtyard.
Mad "Libs + Lou's" are the perfect guest book activity and we love all of the paper products SIMPLESONG design created for them.
We are at the same venue, twice in a row during June...with two very different front entrance looks...
This eclectic + colorful wedding celebration featured lots of color + texture on the table...
Between wedding weekends in June we did a segment at our studio for Good Morning America...
...and had lots of fun with our summer office intern, Blythe (who we STILL miss)!
July was full of Fall wedding prep, design planning and a few more weddings!
For Anastasia + Nick, from a family of one of DC's top restaurateurs, the dinning experience was the most important part of their celebration so we turned an industrial art gallery into a family and restaurant style dining experience...complete with a custom wood bar + suspended table decor.
We headed down to a sunny, small destination wedding for Carole + Joe...
...and were back in DC for an elegant garden-esque reception for Lesley + Matt's August wedding...
One of our favorite surprises of the year was this amazing groom's cake for Meghan + Ajay's late August wedding created by Fancy Cakes by Leslie.
September was full of planning for upcoming events...
...and another private home wedding in the beautiful Virginia countryside.
We had a busy October wedding with three fabulous couples...with different autumnal looks...
November was a busy month of prep for a very special holiday decorating project at the White House. We had so much fun as design leads for the former First Lady trees and the Grand Foyer space. We felt very lucky to work with a fantastic group of volunteers who came from all over the country for 5 days of hard decorating work!
We even helped out with the Bo ornament scavenger hunt...hand stitching this "Bo-flake" that hung in the White House library room.
December for us means lots of preparing for 2013...and gearing up for a busy January!
